What started out as a small hobby to pass time between deer season and bass fishing, turned into a lifelong obsession, bowfishing! I began bowfishing many years ago wading in small creeks and daytime shooting. A couple of years later we advanced to bass boats and Q-beam spotlights. After a couple of years of that, I discovered bowfishing on the internet, and learned about halogen lights, generators, and the whole works. We tried that out for a while, then decided it was time for a new boat. Then eventually came the fan, custom deck, and things begin to get serious. We started fishing some tournaments and got to meet some fine folks involved in bowfishing. I soon became a Bowfishing Association of America member and after being involved for a while, decided I wanted to do my part to help our sport. I served four years as an officer and as the Vice President of the BAA. I also am a national pro-staff shooter for Muzzy Products, helping to promote hunting, bowfishing, and Muzzy hunting/bowfishing supplies and am sponsored by several other companies including Oneida Eagle Bows. I am still very active in the bowfishing world and travel to many bowfishing tournaments and do several TV shows across the country helping promote bowfishing each year. I've also dedicated much of my free time protecting the rights of my fellow hunters and bowfishermen and promoting the sport we all love so much.
I am married to my wonderful wife Erica. Our first child Hudson was born summer of 2005. He has been a wonderful blessing in our lives. He is another future bowfisherman in the making. Our second boy Jack was born fall of 2007 and is another wonderful blessing. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems and a Minor in Computer Science. I also graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a Masters degree in Management Information Systems. We live in the small town of Gurley, Alabama, about 20 minutes from Lake Guntersville. We attend Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville and are actively involved. Besides bowfishing, I'm also an avid deer, duck, and turkey hunter, and do a lot of traveling for those sports, as well as hunting locally.
